When it comes to choosing a health club that’s right for you, it’s important to consider your goals and preferences — and to contemplate a few questions: Are you only looking for somewhere to exercise? Do you prefer to work out individually or in a group setting? Are relaxation and recovery important to you? Do you need someone to take care of your kids while you work out? What type of equipment does your preferred workout require?
Whether you’re looking for one thing or many things, Life Time aims to provide endless opportunities to pursue just about any healthy-living endeavor. Let’s explore some of the unique amenities that you may not find at a traditional gym.
1. Kids Academy
Families can drop off their kids ages three months to 11 years at the Kids Academy for up to 2.5 hours of child care per day (included with a Junior Membership). Here, kids can learn, play, and grow with engaging and enriching age-specific programming and classes while their parents use the club.
Parents can also enjoy an evening to themselves — at the club or elsewhere — with regular Parents Night Out and Tween Takeover events. School-Break Camps are also an option for families to enroll in for those days when school is out and the kids need somewhere to go.
2. Relaxation Offerings
Every space at Life Time is designed to help you take care of your health, and that includes relaxation and personal care. You can experience saunas, steam rooms, and whirlpools, and book spa or salon appointments at LifeSpa.
3. Recovery Amenities
Rest and recovery are just as crucial as movement for your overall health and fitness, which is why many Life Time locations feature an LT Recovery zone with access to complimentary recovery tools — think HydroMassage, CryoLounge, percussive and compression devices, and more. A Dynamic Stretch session with a certified stretch specialist can also help you move better and recover faster. Many Life Time locations feature cold plunge tubs, too.
4. State-of-the-Art Equipment
No matter what you need for your workout, you’ll find it here. With row upon row of sleek cardio equipment, one of the largest selections of free weights, functional training equipment, and more, the movement possibilities are many. (Learn more: “Your Guide to Navigating the Fitness Floor.”)
5. Hundreds of Group Fitness Classes Each Week
At Life Time, the extensive roster of group fitness options means there’s something for everyone, as well as every goal, every mood, and every unique fitness need. Each Life Time athletic country club has hundreds of classes on the schedule each week, including cardio, strength training, boxing and kickboxing, yoga, barre, dance, and indoor cycle. All are included in your membership. (Learn more: “The Ultimate Guide to Life Time Classes.”)
6. Progressive Group Training
There are four signature group training formats to take part in: GTX is a 50/50 blend of cardio and strength work; Alpha is centered around Olympic weightlifting and metabolic conditioning; Ultra Fit combines sprint-interval training with balance and strength efforts; and MB360 is a mind-body program that melds meditation and mobility work with functional strength and conditioning exercises. All formats feature progressive programming and the support and guidance of a coach. (Learn more: “What’s Your Signature Group Training Personality?”)
7. Pickleball and Other Recreational Sports
It’s never too early or too late to get in the game and pick up a new sport. Life Time provides multiple opportunities to do so, including open play, leagues, and lessons for kids and adults in pickleball, tennis, basketball, and swim.
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, and Life Time is leading the way as the company works to become the largest operator of indoor pickleball courts in the country.
8. Nutrition Support
Life Time offers nutrition coaching, along with nourishing food options in the LifeCafe, to fuel your healthy way of life. Life Time dietitians also created 1-2-12, a nutrition system that nearly everyone can use as a framework to improve their eating behaviors. There are also nutrition programs, such as the Life Time D.TOX, that have helped thousands of members improve their eating habits and health over the years.
9. Health and Wellness Resources in Your Pocket
With an ever-growing library of live-stream and on-demand classes, app-based workouts and nutrition programs, guided meditations, and award-winning health and wellness content (including articles from Experience Life, Life Time’s whole-life health and fitness magazine, and episodes of the Life Time Talks podcast), everything Life Time is in your hands with the Life Time app — no matter where you are.
Club access members can also use L•AI•C, Life Time’s AI-driven health-and-wellness companion. L•AI•C can help you with questions related to your membership, Life Time offerings, your health, your workouts, and more. It is available for use by members in the Life Time app. (Learn more: “Meet L•AI•C: Life Time’s Health and Wellness Companion.”)
