At times, all you need to be in peace is a boat, a sunny day, and a well-timed Instagram post. Charissa Thompson, one of the most familiar faces on “FOX NFL Kickoff” and Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” pregame show, is back in the headlines, this time, for something far removed from contract rumors or football debates. The longtime FOX personality gave fans a peek into her recent vacation, and the internet couldn’t look away.
Just days after Front Office Sports confirmed her new multi-year extension with FOX, Thompson shared a handful of sun-drenched photos on Instagram. The pictures featured her enjoying a boat day with her boyfriend, Steven Cundari. And no, they’re not engagement photos, at least, not yet.
Charissa Thompson Is Not Leaving FOX
Thompson has had to clear up a few things recently. Back in April, she directly addressed chatter that she might be leaving FOX.
“No, I’m not leaving FOX. I was never leaving FOX,” she told Calm Down, the podcast she co-hosts with Erin Andrews. “I don’t know where this took on a life of its own… I’m not fired.”
Well, that should settle it. And if anyone still had doubts, the new deal she just signed with FOX should put the rumors to rest for good. According to Front Office Sports, both Thompson and Andrews locked in contract extensions with the network this week.

While Thompson hasn’t officially commented on the contract news, her social media made it clear she’s enjoying life. She posted a string of photos from her vacation with Cundari, who she met through mutual friends, namely, NFL star Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly.
“Steve was sick of me asking strangers to take a photo and hear me say things like ‘could you please lift the phone higher’ or ‘sorry can you take another one,’” Thompson joked in the caption. “So, he went along with my #NotEngagementPhotos idea. You’re welcome Steve, you look great.”
In a past interview with People, Thompson explained how the Staffords introduced her to Cundari. “They were sick of me dating losers,” she said. “So they were the matchmakers.”
For now, Thompson seems more focused on sun, football, and her relationship than speculation. And judging by the photos, everything looks pretty solid.
