Jake Shane said it’s been “beautiful” to see best friend Sofia Richie adapt to motherhood after welcoming her daughter, Eloise, with husband Elliot Grainge in May.

“She’s like my first friend that’s ever had a baby so I didn’t know what to expect, but she is just so in love with her daughter and she’s such an excellent mother,” the TikTok star, 25, exclusively told Page Six at the Celsius Padel Classic at Wayne Boich’s Reserve Miami Seaplane padel club during Art Basel on Friday.
“Eloise is just perfect so I’m so honored that I get to see Eloise grow and Sofia become a mother.”
The “Therapuss” podcast host shared that he wants to be there for Richie’s daughter and feels like he is an “uncle figure.”
“We like to say I’m her ‘guncle,’” he said of the slang term meaning gay uncle.
Shane revealed that he would love to be the one to teach little Eloise life lessons that he wished he knew as a kid.
“Like, you know, try not to care what other people have to say you and be your authentic self and do what you love and things like that,” he said.
As for whether Richie, 26, has still been able to make time for their friendship while being busy with a newborn, Shane gave a resounding “Yes.”
“She’s one of a kind,” Shane gushed of his close pal.
The daughter of Lionel Richie gave birth to her first child on May 20.
“Eloise Samantha Grainge 🤍5•20•24 best day of my life🤍,” Richie wrote on Instagram at the time alongside a black-and-white photo of her little girl’s feet.
The fashion designer and her husband, 30, initially kept her pregnancy news a secret in order to “protect [their] mental health and [their] space,” she told Vogue in January while debuting her growing baby bump.
“Pregnancy is really scary,” she explained at the time. “I didn’t realize there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take. For me, it was really important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
She and the music executive tied the knot with a lavish France wedding in April 2023 where guests included Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and other A-list guests.
Grainge proposed to Richie with a massive emerald-cut diamond ring in April 2023 — nearly two years after going public with their relationship.
