A Brazilian pilot is sharing his horror after an emergency situation struck his aircraft that made him fear for the safety of his passengers on board.
The pilot spoke about how a giant vulture ended up striking and crashing into the plane’s cockpit window, shattering the glass on the front.
The vulture continued to hang helplessly after ramming into the plane with his lifeless body hanging before him.
For him, it was a stark reminder that anything could have gone wrong as witnessed in the wild footage.
Calling it a close call, the plane’s passengers say they feared for their lives as the situation was an emergency and the sight and sounds were certainly very startling.
He further added while speaking to media outlet Jam Press that the aircraft was a single engine plane and five people were on board.
It was on its way from Envira to Eirunepe in Brazil when the jet was met with a head-on collision with the animal that struck the plane head-on by the buzzard. This smashed the entire windscreen in seconds.
Footage showing the post-crash site had the corpse dangling in front of the stunned pilot who just couldn’t stop staring at the dashboard.
While bird strikes do occur at a frequent rate during this time of year, this was alarming, to say the least, the pilot adds.
Despite the freak incident, the pilot managed to land the plane at the airport when reports showed no one was winged in the crash.
