Community Responds after two Local Student-Athletes Pass Away

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – It is a heartbreaking time for family, friends, and communities after two high school students have passed away.

The two were multi-sport athletes at their schools.

Newton County’s Madisyn A’Miyah Evans was a softball player and powerlifter for the Cougars.

Northeast Lauderdale’s Treyvone Young was a baseball and football player for the Trojans.

Investigations in both cases are ongoing and we will update you with information as we receive it.

Schools from around the area are sending their condolences to these two families.
