Lauren Sánchez’s upcoming wedding to Jeff Bezos will be a celebration fit for royalty.
“I think it’s gonna be like a Princess Di thing,” Lauren’s older brother, Paul Sánchez told TMZ on Thursday, March 27, referring to Princess Diana’s 1981 wedding to then Prince Charles. “Just huge and fun, and just a blast.”
PEOPLE recently confirmed that Bezos, 61, and Lauren, 55, have sent out their wedding invitations and are planning to marry in Italy off the coast of Venice on their $500 million yacht named Koru in June. However, Paul kept mum about the wedding specifics during his chat with TMZ, sharing, “We don’t have any details yet, like exactly where it’s gonna be or anything like that.”
“I’m thrilled beyond belief,” Paul added of the celebration. “It’s gonna be an amazing event. It’s gonna be star-studded and fun.”

A source confirmed to PEOPLE Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner will be in attendance, and Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner were invited. Other celebrity names on the guest list could include the bride’s close friends Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria, plus members of her all-female Blue Origin space crew, including Katy Perry and Gayle King.
Princess Diana’s Wedding Dress: Everything to Know
Princess Diana and then Prince Charles tied the knot in an extravagant ceremony on July 29, 1981. The event was hailed as the “wedding of the century.” The lavish affair, which took place at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, cost roughly $48 million (around $168 million today when adjusted for inflation). The nuptials were watched by a record-breaking 750 million people in 74 countries around the world. It also marked the first time that a British citizen married an heir to the throne in 300 years.
Paul added that he has “no clue” what wedding gift to get Lauren and Bezos, but thinks he and other guests might be encouraged to “make a donation to your favorite charity.”

“I talk to my sister three or four times a week but she hasn’t mentioned much about the wedding,” Paul said. “They’re so busy, you know, the launch is coming up in three weeks. And I’ll be there for that, that’s gonna be a blast.”
Lauren — alongside Perry and King, as well as former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn — will depart for the 11th human flight of Blue Origin’s New Shepard program on April 14. It will be the first all-female flight crew recorded since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s solo spaceflight in 1963.
“We’ll see what happens after that,” Paul teased.
Lauren and Bezos went public with their relationship in 2019. Four years later, they got engaged in May 2023.
