Mystery leaker haunts JD Vance scrambling secret Epstein meeting with Pam Bondi and Kash Patel

It turns out Vice President JD Vance was involved in a high-level meeting of Trump administration officials to discuss the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, according to new reporting from CNN.

After the vice president denied a CNN report about a planned dinner at his home with Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel on Wednesday, the meeting venue was changed to the White House.

They discussed a number of topics, including the Jeffrey Epstein case and potential next steps, a ‘source familiar’ told CNN. Both Bondi and Patel were spotted leaving the White House on Wednesday evening.

It remains unknown who is leaking details of Vance’s meetings with Bondi and Patel.

The vice president’s office did not respond to a Daily Mail request for comment.

The leaks surrounding the meeting continue to fascinate Vance’s media critics including MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell.

‘Even when they kept it indoors at the White House with no one able to watch who was coming and going, someone — at least one person — is leaking about the meetings, their scheduling, and the fact that they’re even happening,’ O’Donnell marveled.

CNN first reported that Vance was hosting a dinner at the vice president’s residence Wednesday that would include White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Bondi, Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

The report was bylined by five different CNN reporters citing ‘three sources familiar’ with details of the event, and added that the topic of the Jeffrey Epstein files would be a topic of the meeting.

But the vice president dismissed the report on Wednesday at the White House, calling it ‘fake news.’

‘I saw the report today, and it’s completely fake news, we are not meeting to talk about the Epstein situation,’ Vance replied. ‘I think the reporter who reported it needs to get better sources.’

Vance continues working behind the scenes to get Bondi and Patel on the same page as the administration struggles to handle the controversy surrounding the Epstein files.

Bondi’s deputy, Blanche has taken the lead on the case, spent nine-hours meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s ex-girlfriend and business associate who was convicted of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.

During the meeting, Maxwell told Blanche that Trump never did anything harmful in her presence according to sources speaking to ABC News.

Administration officials are weighing whether to release transcripts of the interviews, but have not made a decision.

Maxwell was transported from a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida after her meeting with Blanche to a more relaxed security prison in Texas.

Maxwell’s attorney said after the meeting that she ‘didn’t hold anything back’ in the interview, and spoke about ‘one hundred’ different people in the case.

Trump has not ruled out a pardon for Maxwell.
